Meet Captain Stu
Captain Stu Rosen is a seasoned mariner with over 40 years of experience navigating the Atlantic City and New Jersey waterways. He holds a U.S. Coast Guard 100 Ton Master License and has been a licensed captain since the age of 21. Captain Stu’s dedication to safety and customer service is paramount on every voyage.
Education and Training:
- U.S. Coast Guard Licensed since 1981
- Bachelor of Science in Biology and Marine Science from Penn State University
- Scuba Instructor since 1979 (NAUI 6566)

- Captain of M/V Metamorphosis, Atlantic City (2009 to Present)
- Captain of M/V Rehab Man, Absecon Island (1998 to 2008)
- Captain of various vessels in the Black Whale Fleet of Long Beach Island and Atlantic City (1976 to 1997)
- Scuba Instructor and Dive Master for Triton Divers of Long Beach Island (1975-1980)
- Crew and Dive Master on various vessels in Barnegat Light (1973-1978)
- Navigation Experience East Coast (Quebec Canada to Florida), Gulf of Mexico (Florida to Louisiana), West Coast (San Diego to Puerta Vallarta, Mexico)
Early Experience:
- Began maritime journey on his father’s vessel, the “Surething”, from 1966 to 1968
- Owned his first boat, “Stu’s Bag,” at the age of 13

The experience of scattering ashes with Captain Stu could not have been more perfect. His thoughtfulness and caring showed through the whole process. Communication was excellent. Last weekend, I scatter my mom's ashes and itwas memorable and special. Captain Stu was able to provide comfort and closure. He was great from booking it to giving a wonderful memorial for my mom. He read poems, played music, provided beautiful roses and placed our water urn into the ocean. My father wasn't thrilled about the idea of this trip but ended up enjoying the experience and talking to Captain Stu. We also received a memorial certificate in the mail with coordinates to where my mother's remains were scattered. I highly recommend Captain Stu for his services.
This is the second time I used Metamorphosis for the scattering of my love one's ashes. My brother and mother are together now.
